A teenager was arrested Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old in Clayton County, police said.
Malik Moses, 17, of Riverdale, was arrested by Clayton County police after he fled the scene of the Jonesboro shooting, which left Quinton Morris dead, according to authorities.
Police posted a video Tuesday evening of a handcuffed Moses being escorted into a police vehicle. He was booked into the county jail and is facing charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said.
Officers were called to a home in the 300 block of Windemere Way around 2 p.m. and found Morris in the front yard unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound, the department said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses pointed officers to the direction that Moses fled, and he was apprehended without incident a short time later, police said.
Police said the suspect and victim knew each other, but a motive is unclear at this time.
