The woman was identified as 29-year-old Tania Rivera, the wife of 33-year-old JC Rayo-Mancilla, who had been shot in the head, according to police.

Rayo-Mancilla, who was taken to a hospital, was later charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

It was not clear whether Rayo-Mancilla’s injury was self-inflicted or if he was shot by one of the victims, but he is the only person charged with a criminal act, police spokesman Capt. Todd Hood said.

No other details were provided about what sparked the shooting, but it continues to be investigated as a domestic violence incident, Hood said.
