A Peach County High School teacher is facing charges of furnishing obscene materials to a minor, according to news outlet WMAZ.

Justin Akin, 25, of Warner Robins was arrested and charged with four counts of furnishing obscene materials to a minor, a misdemeanor, WMAZ reported.

Peach County Sheriff Terry Deese’s office received a call from a parent last Friday, according to WMAZ. The parent reported their 17-year-old daughter received “inappropriate text messages” from a teacher, WMAZ reported.

After a weekend investigation, Akin was arrested, according to WMAZ.

Akin, a first-year teacher at the school, is also a coach with the Peach County Trojans, WMAZ reported, citing his LinkedIn page and Twitter account.

More charges might be filed, Deese told WMAZ.
