Police have identified a man who was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds Monday morning on the side of a busy road in Forest Park.

Carl J. Davis, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene when officers responded about 5:15 a.m. to the 4600 block of Jonesboro Road, a commercial area home to a strip mall and an auto parts store, Forest Park police said Tuesday night. Davis’ body has been sent to the GBI medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

Daivs’ death is being investigated as a homicide, according to Forest Park police. No other details have been released.

It is at least the second homicide investigation for the city this month following a shooting Nov. 1 that killed 31-year-old Denise Hall. Hall’s body was found in the driver’s seat of a burgundy Nissan parked outside a Rodeway Inn on Jonesboro Road.
