Gwinnett County police are investigating after a man’s body was found in front of a home on Ridge Oak Drive near Suwanee.
Officers responded about 10 a.m. Monday and found the man, later identified by police as 44-year-old Matthew Jones of Suwanee, with a stab wound. The homicide unit responded, according to police, and no further information about a possible motive or suspect was released.
“He was the kindest person, a loving son, brother and uncle,” his sister, Kim Bauman, told Channel 2 Action News.

Neighbors told Channel 2 crime is unusual in the Peachtree Horizon subdivision, which is located off Old Peachtree Road near Rock Springs Park. John Villedrouin said the victim lived in the Ridge Oak Drive home with his parents, whom he described as “a very quiet couple.”
“It’s very quiet, peaceful,” Villedrouin said of his neighborhood. “Never usually have any problems.”
Authorities are asking the public to come forward with any information that could help by calling detectives at 770-513-5300.
