If you’re traveling this holiday weekend you can expect crowded roads if you’re driving and should be ready for possible delays if you’re flying.

Here’s some more great news: Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz calls for some scattered showers and storms this afternoon.

“Where these storms develop, locally very heavy rain, some gusty winds, of course the lighting and even some small hail will be a possibility through the afternoon,” he said. “I would plan on dodging at least a few stray showers and storms for any Friday evening plans.”

And, notes Channel 2 Action News Brian Monahan, it’ll start getting darker sooner soon.
