Two women were arrested Tuesday in the case of a woman’s brutal beating that was broadcast on Instagram Live from a Clayton County home, according to police.
Daniellie Moose, 27, of Atlanta, was taken into custody more than two weeks after she was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, making terroristic threats and tampering with evidence, Clayton police announced Tuesday afternoon.
A second woman, 30-year-old Jasmine Heard of Austell, was also arrested, Clayton police later announced. Heard was not previously identified as a suspect, but police believe she was “directly involved in this incident.” Along with her role in the alleged assault, officials accused Heard of helping Moose escape from law enforcement.
Heard will face the same charges as Moose along with an additional count of harboring a fugitive, Clayton police said. Both Moose and Heard were booked into the Clayton County Jail on Tuesday night, according to online records. The women remain in jail without bond.
Officers responded to a home on Heather Circle near Riverdale on Oct. 31 around 1 p.m. in response to reports of a woman being beaten at the location, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. The assault had been broadcast on Instagram Live and resulted in multiple 911 calls.
After the woman who initially answered the door said no one was home, a witness arrived and showed police video evidence that created “exigent circumstances” to allow officers to enter, Clayton police said. Once inside, they said they found a woman behind a locked door with multiple injuries.
Four people were arrested at the scene on charges identical to Moose’s: Tynisha Blyther, 28; Courtney Fisher, 37; K’ayla Smith, 21; and Quintavious Grover, 19.
Three days later, the fifth suspect who fled the scene along with Moose, 19-year-old Javen Hill, turned himself in, police said. Moose remained at large for nearly two more weeks until her capture Tuesday. Police did not say when Heard was identified as a suspect.
Clayton police did not release further details about the circumstances of the latest arrests.
