A man crashed into a telephone pole moments after being severely injured in a shooting at a DeKalb County gas station Tuesday evening. He did not survive, and now police need help finding three people of interest.

Officers were called to the area of Panola and Redan roads around 6 p.m. and found a man, identified as 64-year-old James Oliver, crashed into the pole with apparent gunshot wounds, DeKalb police said in a statement.

Witnesses told police the victim was sitting in the parking lot of the Chevron when his vehicle was shot at multiple times. He started to drive away, but his injuries were too severe and he crashed.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died, according to police.

On Wednesday, investigators released photos of surveillance footage that showed three people who they want to question. They did not call any of the individuals suspects.

Police did not release any other details about the victim, the circumstances of the shooting or the persons of interest.
