A teenager is wanted on outstanding warrants in connection with the death of another teenager in Hall County, officials announced Friday.

Alan Barrera, 17, is facing charges of felony murder and aggravated assault. Gainesville police said he is considered “dangerous,” and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911. Barrera is accused in the Jan. 11 fatal shooting of 17-year-old Aristeo Ramirez. The incident occurred in a residential area just north of Gainesville Square and not far from Longwood Park.

Ramirez was found dead in a crashed vehicle on Hillcrest Avenue around 8 p.m. Police confirmed that he was shot and then crashed.

Ramirez drove to the incident location with a 16-year-old, who fled the area before police arrived, Lt. Kevin Holbrook previously said. That teenager was eventually taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the foot.

Anyone with information about the shooting or Barrera can also submit a tip online.
