Conyers police are searching for a man suspected of firing multiple shots into another car on I-20 in Rockdale County, causing a crash and traffic backup Thursday morning.

Wessoloski Kelly, 21, has been identified as the suspected gunman in what investigators believe was a road-rage incident on the interstate near Salem Road, Conyers police spokesman Sgt. Quantavis Garcia said. Kelly was driving a black 2014 Dodge Charger with black rims and a Georgia tag with the number RTG1207, police said.

The investigation shut down two eastbound lanes just after 10:30 a.m., according to police. About 40 minutes later, the department announced that the interstate had reopened and the subject of the investigation was not a crash but a shooting.

Police said it took place around 9:45 a.m. and asked for anyone who was traveling in the area at that time to contact them.

No one was injured in the shooting or crash, Garcia said.
