A man was killed Friday afternoon when he was caught in the crossfire of a shooting outside a McDonald’s in southwest Atlanta, police said.

Shortly after 1 p.m., officers were called to the restaurant at 3534 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. There, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. The victim, who was not publicly identified, died at the scene from his injuries.

“Preliminary investigation suggests the decedent was caught in the crossfire of two separate parties who appeared to have been shooting at one another,” Atlanta police said.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene. The shooting remains under investigation, and no arrests were announced.
