Rail service at the Dunwoody MARTA station was disrupted for nearly five hours Thursday morning for a death investigation.
According to a MARTA spokesperson, someone jumped in front of a train on the northbound tracks and was killed. Rail power was shut off and a bus bridge was established between the North Springs, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and Medical Center stations following the deadly incident, which was reported at about 7:30 a.m.

During the disruption, the transit authority was also offering those affected discounted Uber and Lyft rides through the MARTAConnect service.

The bus bridge was discontinued shortly after noon, when officials said investigators were in the process of clearing the scene. Northbound trains temporarily boarded from the southbound platform.
Operations fully resumed at the other affected stations by noon, MARTA tweeted from its official account.
Update: Incident investigation in the process of clearing, at Dunwoody. NB trains are boarding from the SB platform side at Dunwoody. Normal operations resuming at Medical Center, Sandy Springs, and North Springs. Bus shuttles discontinued.
