A suspect is in custody after a woman was found shot at a gas station near Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Tuesday morning.

Antwan Leeroy Green, 29, is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, cruelty to children and reckless conduct after police said he fired at another vehicle while driving. A woman riding in the other vehicle was injured in the shooting.

Investigators were called to a Circle K on Northside Drive, one block south of the stadium, at around 7:45 a.m., according to a news release. A man told them his wife had been shot while they were driving northbound on Metropolitan Parkway at University Avenue.

The woman was shot in the back, according to Channel 2 Action News. She was alert when she was taken to a hospital, police said.

Preliminary information indicates the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the drivers of the two vehicles, the news release states. Three children under the age of 5 were present in both vehicles at the time, though they were not injured.

The victim’s husband gave officers a description of the suspect’s vehicle, a black Audi Q5. The victim’s husband pointed to the Audi, which was still in traffic as it passed the gas station, according to an incident report. Officers then caught up to the vehicle and detained the driver, later identified as Green.

Green matched the suspect description provided to officers, according to the release. Officers said they also located the gun believed to have been used in the shooting.
