A 60-year-old man was trying to cross a busy Suwanee road when he was hit and killed by a vehicle that left the scene Monday evening, according to authorities.

Suwanee police said the incident happened around 7 p.m. along Old Peachtree Road just south of the intersection with Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. The area is southeast of I-85.

The man, identified as David Wayne Anglin, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr. Anglin during this difficult time,” police said in a statement. “We are committed to bringing those responsible to justice and finding closure for the family.”
