A man is dead and another injured after a shooting at a South Fulton shopping center Sunday evening, according to officials.

South Fulton police said they were called to the area of 7490 Old National Highway around 8 p.m. The plaza is home to two restaurants, though it’s unclear if the two men were patrons of either business.

When officers arrived, they found a man in the parking lot who had been shot at least once, they said.

“The victim was in and out of consciousness and unable to provide personal information,” police told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in a statement.

Police learned about a second man who had also been shot. His injury was to his leg and hand, and he had driven himself to a nearby location to seek help, officials said. It was not specified where he went to get help.

Both men were taken to a hospital, but the first victim was pronounced dead, police said.

The shooting stemmed from an escalating argument, police told Channel 2 Action News.

Officials said no arrests have been made.
