A 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at an Atlanta park, and police are trying to find the attacker.

The alleged assault happened in late 2016 at Deerwood Park in southwest Atlanta, but the girl was too scared to report the crime until May, police said.

She later helped authorities come up with a sketch of a man she said overpowered her. That sketch was released Wednesday night.

The man, believed to be 18 to 20 years old and about 6 feet tall, has hazel eyes and black hair with a brown or blonde patch in the front of his head, police said.

The man told the girl his name is Lucas, but authorities do not know if that is his real name. However, they do know he frequents the Deerwood Park area.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Atlanta police Detective T. Young at 404-546-5692.
