19-year-old found dead in middle of DeKalb apartment complex

Police are investigating a shooting that left a 19-year-old man dead in the middle of a DeKalb County apartment complex.

The incident happened about 8:45 p.m. Monday at the Mountain Crest apartments in the 1000 block of North Hairston Road, DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said.

Witnesses told Channel 2 Action News they saw the victim run toward his car then collapse.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident, she said.

The name of the victim and the cause of the shooting have not been released.
