A 2-year-old girl died after an SUV rolled over her Friday night in Cherokee County, according to the sheriff’s office.

The toddler was on the front porch of a Ball Ground Highway home about 7 p.m. when her uncle’s boss pulled into the driveway to deliver the man’s paycheck, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said Tuesday in an emailed statement. Another child was on the porch, too.

“The two adults met for a short period of time with the employer apparently never exiting the vehicle or parking the car,” Baker said.

The 2-year-old was hit as the boss was leaving, according to the sheriff’s office.

“There are no indications of any type of impairment of anyone involved,” Baker said. The mother and father were not at the Keithsburg community home at the time of the incident.

The girl was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital and later flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.

She died from her injuries Sunday night. While her name has not been released, a fundraising page set up for the family identified the child as Lilly Franklin, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the accident, but no charges are expected, Baker said.
