A 12-year-old boy was shot in the stomach, while inside his Mableton home Friday night, police said.

The child was standing in front of a computer in the kitchen when he was shot through a window at the back of the home on the 5000 block of White Boulevard, Cobb County police spokeswoman Sarah O’Hara confirmed.

He was taken by ambulance to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital, she said. He was critically injured, but he’s now in stable condition.

No other details were released, and an investigation is ongoing.
