Raven Hicks initially thought injuries she suffered last week were from the windows of her car shattering.

But when she got to the hospital, she found out that wasn’t the case.

“I didn't even know that I had got shot until I got to the hospital, and they did an x-ray,” she told Channel 2 Action News.

Hicks was backing out the driveway to her Roswell Road condo when she “heard something shatter.”

“I thought I was bleeding from the glass that had hit me,” she said.

Doctors eventually determined she was shot.

Sandy Springs police said it is unclear if someone accidentally fired a gun or targeted Hicks.

"It's dangerous,” Hicks told Channel 2. “I thought I was in a safe neighborhood but people are crazy nowadays...you've just (got) to be aware of your surroundings at all times.”

Hicks is expected to make a full recovery.
