A 60-year-old woman was asleep in her DeKalb County apartment early Friday when a bullet came crashing through her bedroom window.

“At about 2:30 a.m., the 60-year-old victim advised she was sleeping when she heard a gunshot and then immediately felt pain in her right arm,” DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said.

An officer responding to the Spring Valley Apartment Homes in the 2800 block of Misty Waters Drive near Decatur found a single bullet hole through the woman’s window. She is expected to recover.

Police are now investigating the incident.

“No suspects were seen and no one is in custody,” Campbell said.
