Authorities are searching for two suspects who robbed an 84-year-old woman near a Buckhead pharmacy in broad daylight and took off with her belongings.

Dorothy Lamson was taken to Piedmont Hospital with serious injuries after the attack, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Steve Avery said.

Lamson was walking home from the CVS in the 1900 block of Peachtree Road about 2:40 p.m. Monday, according to a Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta Facebook post. She was in the area of Montclair Drive and Brighton Road, less than 500 feet from the pharmacy, when one of the men got out of a black car and approached her from behind.

The suspect pushed the woman to the ground, which left her with injuries to her left hand and shoulder, according to Crime Stoppers. The man then made off with the woman’s purse and got back in the car, where the other suspect was waiting, officials said.

Lamson came to the Atlanta area to stay with her daughter amid rising concerns of the coronavirus outbreak, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“I flew her here during the beginning of the crisis because I didn’t want her by herself,” Jennifer Heffron told the news station.

Heffron said someone who knew her mother found her lying face-down on the ground and called for help.

“If they did it to my mom, they could do it to me, they could do it to anybody,” Heffron said.

Investigators said the suspects got out of a four-door Honda Accord with a hatchback and tinted windows. The suspects were last seen wearing face masks and white shirts, investigators said. One wore green shorts and the other wore black pants.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous, and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
