A previous report of a possible abduction near a mall in Athens has been determined to be non-criminal by police.

Athens police spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez said the department’s investigation found the incident was an “unruly juvenile whose father was attempting to get her back into (his) car.”

Athens police previously said a caller at Georgia Square Mall said he heard a woman yelling from the front entrance near Atlanta Highway, according to a prior news release.

The woman was allegedly dragged by her hoodie toward a late-model, burgundy, four-door Cadillac sedan, the report said. The caller said she was repeatedly yelling, “He’s taking me.”
