Gwinnett County police are looking for a woman who they say used a fake North Carolina driver’s license to pose as a bank customer and make a large withdrawal.

Investigators said the woman presented the ID at a SunTrust bank on Club Drive near Lawrenceville on July 17 to take out $2,500 cash.

“The victim noticed the unauthorized withdrawal on her account and called her bank to report the fraud,” Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said Tuesday in a news release.

The forged driver’s license had the victim’s information but the wanted woman’s photo, investigators found.

“After obtaining funds from the bank on Club Drive, another attempt to withdraw funds was made at a branch on Five Forks Trickum Road,” Pihera said. “This transaction was not completed.”

Police released photos of the woman Tuesday morning in an effort to identify her. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwinnett police detectives at 770-513-5300.

Tipsters can remain anonymous, and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
