A 21-year-old pregnant woman was struck and killed at a bus stop Thursday about 5 p.m., police said.

The accident happened on Pryor Road, near Amal Drive.

The woman’s mother showed up to the scene of the accident and told Channel 2 Action News her daughter was 8 months pregnant.

Police said she was standing at the bus stop, when the driver of a pickup truck lost control, hit another car and veered off of the roadway, striking the woman.

The driver was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

While no charges were immediately filed, an investigation is ongoing.
