Woman hit, killed by vehicle while crossing DeKalb street

A woman was hit and killed while attempting to cross a road in DeKalb County on Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The woman, who was in her mid-50s, was hit along Rockbridge Road near Stone Mountain about 6 p.m., DeKalb police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. No other information was provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
