A woman is charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with a shooting that killed her boyfriend Saturday, according to Atlanta police.

Brittany Cash also faces a misdemeanor charge of reckless conduct in the shooting.

Officers were sent to a location on Argyle Drive in northwest Atlanta shortly before 9 p.m., according to Atlanta police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant.

When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest in the living room, according to a police report.

The man was breathing when he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, but he later died, the report said.

Cash told police she had been “playing with a firearm when a round discharged accidentally,” Grant said. She was taken to the Fulton County Jail, where she remains.
