A woman tells police if it weren’t for her 11-year-old son in the car, she thinks she would have been carjacked at a Buckhead gas station.

Mary Margaret Neal said another woman pulled in front of her as she approached a gas pump about 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chevron on Pharr Road and Grandview Avenue, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The woman blocked both pumps so Neal said she rolled her window down and said, "Oh excuse me, I was pulling into this pump as well, would you mind scooting up to the next one?”

That’s when the woman started screaming and cursing at Neal, the news station reported.

Neal felt offended for her son, but pumped gas while the other woman went inside the Chevron store.

“The next thing I know, she’s spraying the mace,” Neal told Channel 2. “I've had two kids and I've never felt worse pain in my life.”

Two more cars boxed Neal in, and she said she thought it might have been a carjacking attempt foiled when the woman with mace saw Neal’s son in the backseat.

Some good Samaritans rushed over to help, giving Neal ice and an Auburn University T-shirt.

The woman and the two cars that had boxed Neal in left before police arrived.
