The day after a deadly shooting in southwest Atlanta, police arrested a woman on a murder charge.

Shirley Ann Fuller, 43, was arrested Tuesday after being charged in the death of 45-year-old Christopher Martin, Atlanta police said in a news release. Investigators believe the motive for the shooting was drug-related.

The shooting took place about 6:15 p.m. Monday in the 2900 block of Campbellton Road, the release said. Officers found Martin with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide investigators interviewed witnesses and were able to get a description of the suspect’s vehicle, police said. The next day, officers found that vehicle, detaining both people inside.

Fuller was charged with felony murder, while Marvin Scott Chaney, 65, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, police said.

Chaney has completed 15 stints in Georgia prisons since 1977, according to Georgia Department of Corrections records. He’s also a registered sex offender after being convicted of child molestation in 2006, according to GBI records.
