A woman faces a theft charge after allegedly stealing the backpack of an Atlanta Legends wide receiver at a Milton car wash.
Jonathan "Bug" Howard, who played in the now-defunct Alliance of American Football league, accidentally left his backpack — containing his playbook, high-end electronics and a pair of league-issued sweatpants — at the Wash Me Fast facility at 12960 Ga. 9, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Tiara Lamm, 26, of Alpharetta, is accused of swiping it Feb. 27.
Surveillance video from the car wash is what Milton police said led them to Lamm, since the license plate of her vehicle was spotted leaving the scene, Channel 2 reported.
“Anytime we can find a picture of somebody or a picture of a tag, obviously it gives us something to work with as opposed to a generic description of somebody,” Capt. Charles Barstow told the news station.

Lamm was initially charged with felony theft of lost or mislaid property, but that charge has since been reduced to a misdemeanor, according to Fulton County court records. She was booked into jail March 3 and bonded out for $10,000 the next day.
“Unfortunately, they had already gotten rid of the items one way or another,” Barstow said.
Howard is a Rochelle native and was a standout wide receiver at Wilcox County High School from 2009 to 2012. He had 1,630 receiving yards his senior year, which is the fifth-highest season total in state history, according to the Georgia High School Football Historians Association.
He was named The Atlanta Journal Constitution's Offensive Class A Player of the Year in 2012, and was also a Class A all-state selection by The AJC.

He played at the University of North Carolina from 2013 to 2016, compiling 18 touchdowns and 2,048 yards, according to his UNC football profile.
