A metro Atlanta woman is in the Hall County Jail on accusations she pushed her former roommate as she held a 6-month-old and tackled and beat a man.

Christina Hope Southerland, 43, of Jonesboro, was arrested on charges of third-degree cruelty to children and reckless conduct as well as two counts of simple battery, Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Scott Ware said Tuesday in a news release.

Authorities said the incident happened Monday at a home in the 2500 block of Mountain View Road in Gainesville.

Southerland allegedly grabbed the woman by her throat and shoved her while the child was still in the woman’s arms. Then, Ware said Southerland tackled a man and hit him repeatedly in the face, “causing redness and abrasions.”

The child wasn’t hurt in the incident.
