A long winter hibernation made this bear hungry — and birdseed would have to do.

A video of a black bear rummaging through a man’s trash can in Buckhead was posted to YouTube on Friday morning, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Harvey Smith posted the video showing the “neighborhood bear,” as he called it in the video’s caption. He said this sighting, which happened overnight less than a mile from Northside Parkway, was the sixth time the bear has visited his backyard.

The video shows the bear knocking over a 30-inch-tall steel trash can with bird seed inside and rolling it with his front paws. The bear then wandered off into the woods.

Channel 2 reported that another neighbor posted Friday on Nextdoor.com that a bear visited her yard on Cave Road.

Aside from having to refill the birdseed, Smith doesn’t seem to mind the bear. He said he has “enjoyed watching (the bear) grow up.”
