An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for a middle school employee, Atlanta Public Schools confirmed.

Sanchez Waller was placed on administrative leave earlier this week, schools spokesman Ian Smith said in a statement. He is a paraprofessional at Bunche Middle School.

District officials did not reveal why the warrant was issued.

“The safety and security of our students is a top priority at APS,” Smith said, “and we are focused on graduating every student ready for college and career.”
