It began with a Facebook post.

“You not gon get me dis time,” the post said in all capital letters, taunting the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Darrell Dix kept his reply to only two words: Challenge accepted.

About 12 hours after the man, who had active warrants in the county, clicked send on that post, he was in handcuffs, the sheriff’s office announced in a Facebook post of its own.

The sheriff’s office has not released the man’s name or the charges he faces.

He was arrested at a location on North Hill Street in Griffin. When he was taken into custody, deputies said they found a handgun on him.

The man’s Facebook account, which is named BlixkyGang LilAnt (RatchettBoy), is a reference to a criminal street gang, according to the sheriff’s office. Dix called the man a “well-known documented gang banger.”

Maj. Dwayne Jones told AJC.com that the sheriff plans to release more details either later Wednesday or Thursday morning.
