Running past customers in line, an armed robber climbed through the window of a McDonald’s drive-thru, grabbed the cashier and made off with the cash register, police said.

About 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 2, the man ran past cars in line at the restaurant on Wesley Chapel Road, Channel 2 Action News reported. Much of the incident was captured on surveillance video.

"This subject decided this was a better way to do it,” DeKalb County police Lt. Lonzy Robertson said. “He was small enough to get through the window at the time."

Police said the robber’s voice, which can be heard on the video,  may offer a clue.

"We can hear his voice, so maybe if somebody recognizes his voice or his description, they can help us out," Robertson said.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police at 404-286-7900.

The incident bothered a customer.

"I go there every night to get something to eat. It's just crazy," Ju Washington told Channel 2. "I hope they get him. They need to get him. There could have been kids in the car. Anybody could have gotten shot."
