Atlanta police need the public's help to identify the driver of the SUV believed involved in a drive-by shooting that injured a boxer's bodyguard. On Thursday, police released a video of the incident.

Gregory Larosa, a bodyguard for Floyd Mayweather, was shot in the leg as he traveled in a Mercedes Benz Sprinter van in Buckhead shortly after 3 a.m. April 9, according to police. Three SUVs in Mayweather’s group were returning to the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta hotel from a nightclub when another vehicle pulled alongside them and started fired several shots, police said.

“At this time, it appears that this was not a random shooting and the shooter was targeting the victim’s vehicle,” Officer Stephanie Brown said in an emailed statement.

The suspect’s vehicle, believed to be a late model, red Dodge Durango, pulled up beside Mayweather’s group at an intersection, according to police. Twelve shell casings were recovered from the intersection of Peachtree Road and Highland Drive.

Anyone who recognizes this vehicle or who has any information on this incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org. Tipsters do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward of up to $2,000 for the arrest and indictment of the suspect.

Investigators said one of his bodyguards was shot in front of an upscale hotel.
