Surveillance video helped in the arrest of a Gainesville woman in connection with the theft of more than $3,000 worth of items from a Hall County church, authorities said.

Amy Caroline Thornton, 50, is charged with second-degree burglary, Lt. Scott Ware of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

Between midnight and 6 a.m. on Aug. 25, someone took musical instruments, electronics and other items from the Corinth Baptist Church on Thompson Bridge Road, authorities said.

“As a result of surveillance video at the church, investigators were able to identify Thornton,” Ware said.

Thornton has been booked into the Hall County Jail.
