Suspect granted $500K bond after deadly Douglasville shooting

A 19-year-old man has been granted $500,000 bond after his weekend arrest in connection with a deadly shooting in Douglasville.

Gary Lamoore Parker II faces charges of murder and aggravated assault in the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Dequandre Johnson, Douglasville police said in a Facebook post.

The shooting took place about 5:30 p.m. Friday near Oak Street, AJC.com previously reported. Two elementary schools, Eastside and Burnett, are in the area.

Parker was arrested Saturday.

Police have not released a motive or how detectives identified Parker as the suspect in the shooting.

As of Tuesday morning, he had not been released from the Douglas County Jail, according to online jail records.
