A day after a UGA-Notre Dame ticket scammer was supposed to report to jail in Georgia, he was arrested in Key West, Fla., authorities said.
Jeffrey Martin Cook, 56, was arrested early Saturday after he didn’t report to serve 180 days at the Putnam County jail, Sheriff Howard Sills told the Telegraph of Macon.
Sills said Cook spent Friday night with his daughter in Warner Robins and left early Saturday, saying he needed to check in with his boss in Dothan, Ala., Sills said.

Cook was arrested in the Florida Keys after a deputy’s tag reader alerted that Cook’s pickup truck was wanted, according to the Telegraph. He faces extradition to Putnam County on a charge of fugitive from justice.
Cook pleaded guilty in October to nine counts of misdemeanor theft by taking in connection with the scam for tickets to the September 2017 game between Georgia and Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. He was sentenced to jail time, nine years on probation and ordered to pay $8,250 in restitution.
