A University of Georgia student was convicted of being a peeping Tom by the Clarke County Superior Court, according to a media report.

Theodore Ranier Bawayan, 29, was convicted of one count and acquitted of another. A third charge was dropped after the victim refused to testify.

In September 2014, Bawayan was attending a house party when authorities say he tampered with the bathroom locks to spy on women, the Athens Banner-Herald reported.

Bawayan is said to have removed all of the toilet paper from one bathroom, causing party guests to use a second bathroom where he lingered outside. He allegedly broke the door lock of the second bathroom. When a female party guest went into the bathroom, he would wait a few minutes before going into the bathroom to ask the woman if she needed toilet paper, the paper reported.

Bayawan continued this routine throughout the night at another party nearby. At that party, a woman said Bayawan walked in on her three times and allegedly groped her once.

As part of an agreement with prosecutors, Bawayan pleaded guilty to peeping Tom charges in return for the other charges being dismissed. He was sentenced to five years on probation and ordered to seek mental health and psychosexual evaluations and treatment, the paper reported.

In 2006, Bayawan was arrested by UGA police on peeping Tom charges after an alleged incident took place at a campus bathroom. A month later, he was arrested by UGA police for allegedly stalking a woman.
