Two men have been arrested in the shooting death of a teen father at a graduation party, Butts County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

Christopher “Ray Ray” Walker, 19 of Flovilla, and Gemarius “Gee” Oneal, 19 of Griffin were charged Monday with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. They are being held at the Butts County Jail.

Cederrius Hastings, father to an 8-month-old baby, died in a drive-by style shooting, where three other teenagers were also shot and wounded about 12:30 a.m. Friday.

Hastings’ family told Channel 2 the 16-year-old Griffin High School honor roll student was at a graduation party when he was shot and killed Friday night. Hastings planned to play college football and become a chef.

As the party was ending and people were leaving, another group did a drive-by shooting, Long said.

“It was a girl’s graduation party,” Kaniya Jones, Hastings’ cousin, said. “He was trying to run and got shot. That’s all I know.”

One female and one male were still in the hospital Sunday, according to Channel 2, but whereas the male was expected to be released by afternoon, the girl’s injuries were expected to keep her in the hospital longer.

All four teenagers came from Griffin to the Levi Barnes Road residence in Jackson where deputies found them, Butts County Sheriff Gary Long said.

About 150 people were outside as the party broke up and adults were getting teenagers to leave, according to Channel 2.
