Three people were recovering from two separate shootings at New Year’s gatherings in Atlanta and Gwinnett County, according to police and news reports.

The incident in Atlanta took place shortly after midnight at a home near Epworth Street and Avon Avenue. A 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were wounded, Atlanta police said. The woman was an innocent bystander who was struck by a stray bullet, police said.

Both gunshot victims were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. The conditions of the victims were not immediately available. Police were still looking for the shooter, according to Channel 2 Action News.

In Gwinnett County, a 23-year-old man fell more than 10 feet from an apartment balcony after being shot, police said. The shooting occurred at about 1:45 a.m. at the Lake Sweetwater Apartments near Lawrenceville. The man was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where police said he was in stable condition and speaking with investigators. Gwinnett County police said there are no known suspects.
