3 teens detained in stolen car chase; 2 on the run
Authorities detained three teenagers and are searching for two more after a stolen car chase Wednesday morning, the Georgia State Patrol said.
Atlanta police were following a stolen Toyota Corolla on Piedmont Road that was traveling at a high rate of speed when it passed two GSP patrol cars, GSP Sgt. Stacey Collins said.
Troopers joined the chase and followed the suspects onto I-285, Collins said. Within a mile of getting on the interstate, a trooper performed a PIT maneuver on the car.
Sandy Springs Police say they’ve now found 3/5 suspects who ran after chase and jump from 285. One other possible suspect we saw and called 911, but police still looking for him. All young teens. LIVE report next at 6:30a pic.twitter.com/CTr8NDKDRA

Five people inside the car escaped after it spun out, Collins said. They jumped into a thick, wooded area behind a neighborhood next to the interstate.
Authorities detained a 15-year-old girl who was climbing the fence. Collins said two other teens, a girl and a boy, were detained by Sandy Springs police hours later.
The remaining two male suspects are still at large.
Burglary tools and a fully loaded stolen gun were found in the car during a search, Collins said.
Recorded this video right before I called 911 to report possible suspect in stolen car chase off 285 in Sandy Springs. Looked about 15/16 years old and dirty, like he’d been in the woods and walked right by us before our 5:30a live shot pic.twitter.com/P2OIKdi4Hq
