A 17-year-old took a bullet when someone opened fire during a party at a northwest Atlanta vacation rental home, police said.

The victim started running and only noticed he was shot after he jumped a fence and could barely move his arm, according to a police report obtained Monday by AJC.com.

He told police that some friends had gathered Sunday night at a rental property on Ollie Street. An argument broke out over a dice game, he said, and he heard gunshots when someone opened the front door.

The injured teenager was found on nearby Lena Street by responding Atlanta police officers, who arrived just before midnight. The victim told the officers he did not know who shot him, according to the report.

He had been shot in his shoulder, and the bullet exited his back, an officer said in the report. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and was expected to survive.

Officers said they found bullet holes in the front of the rental property and gunfire damage at a home across the street.

It was the second shooting involving a house party on Ollie Street in recent months. In March, a 17-year-old girl was shot during a gathering a few doors away. Atlanta was under a citywide stay-at-home order at the time.

There were about 15 to 20 teenagers attending the party in March, according to police. Investigators did not say how many people were inside the home before Sunday night’s shooting.

No shooters were in custody Monday, but police were working to identify two people known only by their first names, according to the report.
