Investigators are trying to determine where and why a 19-year-old who showed up at Grady Memorial Hospital on Tuesday night was fatally shot.

The teen, whose name was not released, died shortly after he was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle just before 11 p.m. He appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds, according to Atlanta police.

Police did not say who took the 19-year-old to the hospital or if they are being questioned. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
