A teenager accused of threatening “to do harm” at his former high school has been arrested and banned from Forsyth County Schools, district officials said.

According to a letter sent to parents at Denmark High School, the 17-year-old “made threats to do harm at our school and to himself.”

The letter did not specify the nature of the threat but noted that the teen, identified by district spokeswoman Jennifer Caracciolo as Cristian Gael Dominguez, did not have access to guns.

“We take all threats seriously,” principal Heather Gordy said.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office arrested Dominguez at his home Thursday. He is charged with terroristic threats and disrupting a public school and is in the Forsyth County Jail. His bond was set at $8,300.

Dominguez had not been on campus since Jan. 11. He withdrew three days later, according to the principal. At the time, Dominguez was classified as a freshman at the school, which opened in August near Alpharetta.

“Effective immediately, he is banned from all school campuses in our district,” Gordy said. “The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.”

Two other threats were reported Thursday in the school district.

A North Forsyth Middle School student was removed from the school after saying he “could shoot up the school” and charged with making terroristic threats, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Deputy Jenny Belafi said in a statement. “The student then stated he was only joking. It was determined that the juvenile did not have access to a firearm, but due to the seriousness of the statement, the student was charged,” Belafi said.

On the same day, the district received information about a possible threat against Otwell Middle School. A parent of a student found a message on their child’s phone from another student threatening to “shoot up the school,” Belafi said. While that student also did not have access to a firearm, the sheriff’s office still filed terroristic threats charges.

AJC.com does not report the names of minors who are being charged as juveniles.
