Gwinnett County police have named a suspect in the homicide of a 30-year-old man who was visiting relatives for Thanksgiving near Lilburn.
Eriberto Villanueva, 28, of Atlanta, has active warrants for his arrest in connection with the shooting death of Benedicto Granados of Lawrenceville, police said in a news release. He’s wanted on felony murder and aggravated assault charges.
On Friday just before 3 a.m., police responded to a home off Barnaby Court to find Grandados with multiple gunshot wounds, AJC.com previously reported. He was rushed to a hospital, where he died.
He was found in the garage with other witnesses when the gunshots rang out, according to police. Detectives believe Granados was targeted after an argument escalated to gunfire.
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding Villanueva.
