An Atlanta inmate will be taken back to Austin, Texas, to face charges in connection with a fatal shooting there, authorities said.
Endicott I. McCray, 24, of Flugerville, Texas, waived an extradition hearing Thursday in Fulton County, authorities said. Texas authorities will take custody of McCray within 15 days and return him to Austin, where he faces a murder charge.
McCray was captured Wednesday in East Point by federal marshals, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.
He was sought by police after a shooting early Sunday in Austin that killed one woman, Teqnika Marie Moultrie, 30, and injured four others. Investigators say McCray was attempting to shoot his brother-in-law, the Austin American-Statesman reported.
Marshals found McCray near the East Point bus and train station, spokesman Tony Schilling said. Agents had learned he would be in the area and began surveillance.
It is not clear why McCray came to the Atlanta area.
