A Clayton County judge Friday denied bond for a man accused of a shooting death outside a Jonesboro home, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Cornelius Burnley, 44, is charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of Phillip Goodman, the station reported.

Neighbors heard shots fired about noon Thursday and told police they saw a man dragging the victim’s body into a home on Susan Lane, Clayton police spokeswoman Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said at the time.

Marbury said police do not believe it was a random act.

The suspect says police have the wrong person.
