Clayton County police have charged a 22-year-old man in connection with multiple church burglaries, a spokeswoman said.
Darrius Vassar was taken into custody Thursday and has confessed to the burglaries, Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said.
The incidents took place from Feb. 21 to March 6, according to police. Investigators determined from surveillance video of at least two of the burglaries that the same person was responsible.

After the images were shared with nearby police agencies, Morrow police passed along Vassar’s name as a suspect.
The officers knew of Vassar from an injury call at a Walmart, Marbury said. They knew that his injuries didn’t happen there. They later noticed blood and shattered glass at a church burglary in their jurisdiction that is near the Walmart.
Also, police found that the suspect had pawned an iPad Mini that matched the description of one that was reported stolen in the first Clayton County church burglary. He eventually was linked to four other church burglaries.
Vassar is facing multiple charges of burglary and criminal trespass.
